Next Test Date
Our next test date will be July 17th @ 1pm.
NOTE: Graduation will be held on July 23rd, 7:00 p.m.
Pre-testing may not be mandatory for some but anyone wishing to pre-test: for practice or brushing up on older material, please verify with an instructor.
*All students listed on the whiteboard above the fridge have the material for their next belt goal, but are not guaranteed to pass the upcoming test.
** Please remember that all required patches must be in place before graduation. Please make sure your uniform is clean and in good shape for ALL classes. New uniforms may be purchased at any time.
Uniform Update:
Thank you very much to those who had properly adjusted the patches on their uniforms and are keeping
their uniforms clean. Your uniform represents you and your school.
Summer Camp:
Our June summer camp went very well as usual and everyone had a great time.
Mr. Steve asked the kids to compare their experience with all other summer programs and in their opinions we were out of the league.
Spaces are filling up for August 2nd – 6th
Front Desk
Please keep in mind that only Mr., Mrs. and Marissa Casamento should be behind the front desk area.
Training in Filipino stick fighting
Mr. Casamento had the opportunity to train with some great instructors in Delray beach June 6th
Everyone had a great time and new friends were made.I plan on having some instructors to our school for seminars. Arnis is from the Philipines and is a great system that includes weapons and blend perfectly with kenpo.
If you have the chance to attend these seminars, we highly recommend them.
Systema in Hollywood
Mr. Casamento and Brian attended seminars on May 22-23.
The instructor was Deadliest warriors, Maxim Franz from Vlads Russian martial art school in Toronto.
Mr. Casamento had also trained a few times with Sonny (who was Maxims partner on the show).
Training was intense, especially for Mr. Steve as it seemed he was used a lot as Maxims partner for hard/fast punching drills.
BBC Club
Our next BBC class will be on July 24th at 12:30 p.m. , the subject will be Arnis (weapons) learning the basics and drills to the single/double stick. You must have professionally manufactured sticks to participate.
Kayaking/Mountain Biking Trip /Paintball /Park
We would like to know if anyone would be interested in forming a group to do some outdoor activities with students from here at the studio.
Estero Tournaments
There will be a kick tournament in Estero in August as well as a September tournament in Estero in which our school was invited.
Check the flyer by the white board and visit the website on it for info.
We are planning to have a tournament here at Red Dragon before to give students a chance to get a feel for outside tournaments on a smaller level and our Trophies will be an awesome design chosen by Mr. Steve.
We are looking at possibly August 21st.
A New Kid
Our local movie theaters at Gulfcoast and Belltower contacted us to have our demo team conduct a martial arts demo for promotion of the new Karate Kid movie in June. Thank you to all that supported this event and everyone did a great job.
Master “Huk” Planas in Fort Myers
Mr. Planas will be visiting our school October 16/17th to run a two day seminar which will be open to beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
If you haven’t trained with Mr. Planas you are missing out on training with the 10th degree Master of Ed Parkers Kenpo .
Mr. Planas is a very humble man with endless knowledge in Kenpo and other systems of martial arts. He is also Mr. Casamentos private instructor. In the front area of our school we have a little bio of him and his accomplishments, take a minute and read it.
